MALI BURN

The desert wasn't the enemy. The enemy lay within.

When terrorists strike a remote mining camp in Mali and abduct an American engineer, former soldier Mike Raighe and the War Wolves are drawn into a mission that should have been impossible.

What begins as a hostage rescue soon uncovers something far more dangerous. As the Wolves push deeper into the heart of West Africa, they find themselves confronting ruthless insurgents, international criminal networks, corrupt business interests, and powerful men who profit from chaos.

For captive engineer Harold Burger, survival depends on courage, resilience, and the hope that someone is still coming. For Mike and the War Wolves, every mile into the Sahara becomes a race against time where loyalty is tested, sacrifice is inevitable, and failure is not an option.

In Mali, chaos is a business.
Humanity is a choice.
And some choices are worth bleeding for.

Inspired by real events, Mali Burn is a gripping military thriller that blends authentic special operations, hostage rescue, international intrigue, and unforgettable characters into a story of brotherhood, sacrifice, and the enduring fight to do what is right in a world consumed by greed and violence.

The War Wolves: Panama Shuffle

By Harrison Caine

In Panama, everyone has an angle. Someone has already worked out how the Wolves will die.

Mike Raighe brought the scars of Mali home with him. Now he is trying to build a life with his wife, Bree, and their sons on a Virginia ranch. A lucrative contract offers the War Wolves a chance to put their hard-earned experience to work. For once, the job looks clean.

Then the Governor of Virginia’s son is kidnapped in Panama.

The assignment is straightforward: find Henri Glennrich, get him out and bring him home. Under the cover of an insurance recovery operation, Mike and the Wolves deploy into a country where rival cartels are fighting for control and every favour carries a price. Before they can reach their hostage, it becomes clear that someone knows far too much about their mission.

The deeper they push, the less the kidnapping makes sense. Henri is worth more than a ransom, their employers have left questions unanswered, and the men hunting them have reach far beyond Panama. With every move, the Wolves risk exposing themselves to an enemy they cannot yet identify.

Back in Virginia, Bree discovers that distance offers her family no protection.

To bring everyone home, Mike must uncover who has compromised the mission, what Henri is really caught up in, and how far he can trust the people who sent them.

A military thriller of brotherhood, betrayal and a rescue that becomes a fight for survival on both sides of the world.

RIFT VALLEY HELL

The War Wolves – Book Three
By Harrison Caine

War doesn't make monsters. It gives them somewhere to belong.

Mike Raighe knows the Congo. He knows its jungles, its wars, its corruption, and the terrible things men are capable of when nobody is watching. He's fought there before. He's killed there. And he's carried pieces of that country home that he would rather forget.

Now he's going back.

The War Wolves have been hired to dismantle a criminal network turning stolen African gold into clean international money. But beneath the smuggling routes lies something far uglier: child soldiers, massacred villages, abducted aid workers, corrupt officials, rogue intelligence officers and warlords who have made brutality a business.

And somewhere behind the money is a ghost from Mike's recent past. A man whose hatred has become an obsession.

In the Congo, nobody is innocent simply because they wear a uniform, carry a humanitarian badge or claim to be fighting for a cause. Alliances are bought, loyalties shift, and sometimes the only way to save lives is to work alongside men who have destroyed them.

For Mike, the greatest danger isn't dying in the jungle. It's discovering how easily he can become the man he once was.

Rift Valley Hell is a brutal story of war, betrayal, greed and the moral cost of survival. There are no clean victories here. No heroes without blood on their hands. And no coming home unchanged.

Some wars follow you home. Others have been waiting for you to return.

About
Harrison Caine

Harrison Caine smiling while travelling

Harrison Caine writes military and geopolitical thrillers where surviving the mission is only part of the story. Drawing on firsthand experience across Africa, he brings a practical understanding of risk, loyalty and the difficult choices people make when there are no comfortable answers.

His War Wolves series, beginning with Mali Burn and continuing with Panama Shuffle, follows Michael “Mike” Raighe and a team bound by shared hardship, irreverent humour and the responsibility of bringing one another home. They are capable men, but not invulnerable ones. Behind their experience and firepower are friendships, families, doubts and promises that become harder to keep with every assignment.

For Caine, the people behind the headlines matter as much as the events that put them there. His stories explore the civilians caught between competing interests, the men who turn chaos into profit and those who choose to help when walking away would be easier. Beyond the battlefield, families carry consequences they never volunteered for, and coming home does not settle every debt.

Writing is his way of finding meaning in a life lived close to the edge, without disguising its costs. He writes under a pen name to keep private experience separate from public storytelling. The novels are fiction, but the questions at their heart are personal: what is worth standing for, what cannot be bought, and how much of ourselves do we ask others to sacrifice?
